In this page I want to introduce the Catalan Educational System and to compare it with other European Systems. This page is still under construction.
1- The Compulsory Secondary Education, ESO (ages 12-16) in Catalonia.
Legal Framework:
- Decree 143/2007, of June 26th, that states the regulation of the CSE curricula.
- Order EDU/295/2008, of June 13th, that states the procedure and the documents and formal requirements for the assessment process on the CSE.
Secondary education (ESO) is free. It comprises four academic years (ages 12 – 16) but students have the right to remain in the center until they are 18.
The contents of the CSE include the Key Competencies.
